Back in the Mainland
Tim and I returned from our trip to Hawaii this morning after about 12 hours of travel, between car, plane, and shuttles. We had a beautiful, relaxing trip and enjoyed the Northshore of Oahu just as much as the Garden Island, Kauai. We arrived in Oahu and enjoyed lunch on the beach in Waikiki before heading to the Northshore where our hotel was located. We visited a peaceful Buddhist Temple and then checked in and had dinner at the resort. The next day we walked the beaches of our hotel and spent the afternoon golfing. Our last full day in Ohau was spent turtle watching, snorkeling, and beaching it. Before we headed to Kauai we stopped at Pearl Harbor to visit the Arizona Memorial. Once we arrived in Kauai we sought out nearby waterfalls and the Wailua River. The next day we went snorkeling at Tunnels Beach and actually swam with a giant sea turtle--amazing! We drove the north side of the island and viewed the island from a lighthouse lookout point. The following day we went to a coffee plantation, Japanese garden, botanical gardens, and the spouting blowhole. Our last day we took a helicopter tour around Kauai since only 20 percent of the island can be seen by boat and land. And the morning we departed we took a kayak on the river for a quick look at the Fern Grotto. Whew! We stayed busy sightseeing but still managed to fit in at least 10 hours of sleep every night and plenty of naps (perfect for a pregnant lady). Click the button below to view pictures from our trip.
