Blustery Afternoon

1/5/2014

Yesterday we enjoyed the afternoon in our backyard, Addie's favorite activity. She spends much of an ordinary day gazing out the window and saying "up" so I'll take her outisde.  The girl loooves to be in the great outdoors, preferably playing in dirt and eating rocks. We lit a fire to warm up the blustery day, which might have been more work that it was worth, trying to keep her from touching the chiminea.  Zazua and Wilma love the freedom of our surprisingly expansive Army backyard and busied themselves playing fetch and licking bird poop off the porch (ICK!). Tim watched the exciting UA game on the computer and I made us some carmel salted hot chocolate--yum! Addie certainly enjoyed her first taste of this treat and kept asking for more.  She also enjoyed checking out the string lights, a couple bird nests, feathers, the backyard "junk drawer," and practicing her new walking skills. It was a perfect laid-back afternoon after the holiday bustle.
