Finally, a Wildcat!

Tim is surrounded by Wildcats (University of Arizona graduates), and although he is the truest (or most dramatic!) fan of us all, he is not an alumni, yet! After maaaaaaaany discussions and looooooots of prayer, we've decided to move to Tucson, Arizona this summer where Tim will attend graduate school in preparation for his teaching position at West Point. Finally, a Wildcat!

Tim also applied to Stanford, Georgia Tech, and UT Austin, all top ten programs in the nation. He was accepted to GA Tech and Austin; turning down those educational opportunities and locations was extremely difficult! As a young couple, the idea of living in either of those lively cities is inviting, and both moves would put us significantly closer to dear friends (who I sincerely miss), but God called us to go home to Tucson so Adeline can bond with family.  And we trust His plan for us, desiring to be obedient to His will for our lives. If our life in the military works out as we have it planned, this is the only opportunity Addie will have in the next 20 years to be near her family. Both of Tim's military mentors, who are rooted in faith, said to go to Tucson, without questions. Their reasoning: it's the only chance Tim will have in his current line of work to put us first, and his child will appreciate the time with family.

Factors other than family that aided in this decision (silly and serious): UA has already shown a personal interest in Tim and his education; class sizes at UA are smaller, it's the quickest and easiest of the potential moves; we'll have LOTS of people who want to watch Adeline=more date nights for us=); I can finally take golf lessons and feel comfortable leaving Adeline for five hours at a time while we golf; we have friends in Tucson; I love our church-home in AZ; we'll get to indulge in sensational mexican food to our heart's content!

Dear God,
Thank you for speaking to us and leading our family to Arizona. We trust Your plan for our lives. We ask you to bless our time in Tucson, using us as you see fit and helping us to be radically obedient to Your will. Tim has a daunting task before him, to complete an intense program at an accelerated rate due to the Army's timeline. Please guide him (academically, emotionally, and spiritually) in this endeavor and allow his professor's to take a personal interest in his success. Help our family to be understanding and supportive of the time he must dedicate to earning his degree. We're thankful to You for providing this opportunity for us. In Your Son's name, Amen.
