Happy New Year

1/1/2015

How exciting that another year is beginning. I'm especially looking forward to all the "firsts" for Lincoln (and for Tim to experience that joy as a parent, since he missed most of Addie's firsts due to his deployment). Although anticipation abounds for 2015, we spent the last couple hours of 2014 reflecting on our favorite memories from the year. Here's a few from my list:
  • Addie hunting Easter eggs
  • The (somewhat) surprise of finding out I was pregnant
  • Tim's pure elation when we found out we were having a boy
  • The first time Addie said, "I love you"
  • Seeing Lincoln's face during a 3d ultrasound
  • Witnessing a pregnancy center client chose life for her baby after considering abortion
  • Holding our son for the first time
  • Addie meeting Lincoln
After the kiddos fell asleep, we poured champagne and watched the ball drop on T.V., while remembering our engagement on New Year's Eve six years ago. How life has changed in those six years! It was a quiet celebration, but just perfect considering the addition of our newborn son.

When we woke up this morning, we were greeted by a snow covered golf course--what a lovely surprise! Addie's never experienced snow before so we were super excited to watch her play in it. At first, she was upset about the white stuff on her boots and wanted it cleaned up, haha. Once Addie got over that, she enjoyed exploring, running, tasting and riding in our homemade sled. What a perfect beginning to the new year!

May God bless you and yours with His peace, comfort, and joy during 2015.
