PregnancyUpdate (28 Weeks)

Picture28 Week Belly
I'm currently 29 weeks along, but last week one of my out-of-town girlfriends asked for a photo of my belly and I realized that I haven't been documenting my pregnancy nearly as much as I did with the first one, pretty typical I suppose. With Adeline, I posted weekly belly pics and baby updates, but I also had WAY more time on my hands during that pregnancy.

Here's a little rundown:

Baby boy is growing exactly on point, my belly measuring at precisely 28 inches. At my OB appointment last Wednesday, his heart rate was 154 beats per minute.

I'm still experiencing nausea daily, and unfortunately, the medicine isn't helping as much as it has been over the last few months. The doctor said I can take an additional pill each day, but I don't want to take more than needed.

Bedtime brings on restless leg, anxiety, and sleeplessness. I only experienced this a couple times with Addie, but it's been nightly for the last week. The doctor recommended Benadryl or Ambien. Benadryl has never affected me as it does others, and sure enough, it had no effect when I tried it last week since I couldn't fall asleep until 2 A.M. I'm hesitant to try Ambien, but the doctor assured me there has been no negative effects found during pregnancy. Not sure if I'll go that route yet, but I'm certainly in need of sleep! Waking up at 6 A.M. with Addie after only four (very interrupted) hours of sleep is exhausting! Luckily, avoiding my usual mid-day nap when Addie falls asleep has helped in the sleeping department.

Baby Center says this about baby's development:

By this week, your baby weighs 2 1/4 pounds and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
