28 Weeks

Today marks the end of my second trimester; tomorrow I will be 28 weeks pregnant and a mere 12 weeks away from meeting our daughter for the first time--simply amazing! The second trimester started out rough with my second visit to the E.R., but was truly a blessing because it was then that I finally received treatment for hypermesis gravidarum. I struggled with taking the medication, not wanting it to have any negative side effects for baby, but I needed to take it to start gaining back the ten pounds I had lost the first four months. Unfortunately, I still need to take Zofran in the morning to stop the morning sickness, but it's certainly improved how I feel during this pregnancy. These last three months also brought the joy of feeling and seeing her kick, AND finding out that we're having a girl. Now that the last trimester is beginning I'm starting to experience back pain and the return of exhaustion, but that all leads us one step closer to our daughter. Click on the button below to see a video of how she'll develop in the next three months.

P.S. I will be out of town for Kali's wedding until Sunday (without internet access) and will return to blogging on Monday.

You can't know this unless I comment, but I HAVE been following your blog, Dear Ashley, and enjoying your journey into motherhood. You daughter is one LUCKY babe to have two such doting parents and two such faithful puppies - loved Wilma on your tummy!
You write beautifully with such love and passion, and I'm sure there are many mothers who would love to put into words what you describe. Any chance of publishing?
How's the tutoring working out as school starts? I've a feeling you won't have much time to tutor in another two months, but it's always nice to have horizons!
We're thinking about you all, DearS, and we still look forward to visiting October 4th as we return from Telluride. We'll have Dawson - hope the weather is cool so he can stay in the car as we take you out to dinner!
Love and hugs from the neighbors who still MISS you!

Hi Bunnie! I'm happy to hear you follow us on the blog. It's been fun to document this journey. We can't wait to see you in October! If it's not cool enough for Dawson in the car, I know Zu and Wil would love to play with him at the house. Hope you're doing well. We love you both.
