39 Week Appt.

11/7/2012

Yesterday I had my 39 week appointment. The nurse began the appointment by measuring the baby's heart rate and found it to be a little lower than usual. Ms. Topp (my midwife) was not overly concerned, but sent me to labor and delivery to have the baby monitored for 30 minutes, just to be safe. During the 30 minutes the baby's heart rate ranged from 118-160 bpm and I had a few contractions (although I only felt one of them). The baby was deemed to be perfectly fine after the monitoring. Below is a short clip where you can heart her heartbeat. Ms. Topp checked me and said that I'm one centimeter dilated and my cervix is soft. She was also able to feel the top of the baby's head. My next appointment is November 15th, but I'm hoping our sweet daughter will make her debut before then!

Hi Honey,
I'm so glad everything went well on your check-up especially when the heartbeat went from 118-160, that had me worried at first, but your Mom takes so long to tell a story,I finally had to say"Please, tell me if the heart rate went up before she left, she (Finally) said yes and I was relieved,I had so much running around to do yesterday I forgot to call you,I finally got my tires and then had a few other stops to make at the bank. Maybe I'll give you a call later today, tell Tim I said Hello,Ilove you,Dad
