A Raisin Education

While Adeline finished off a container of raisins yesterday she figured out a way to amuse herself for nearly an hour. At first she spent about ten minutes taking the last of the raisins in and out, in and out, eating a couple, then in and out again. It reminded me of my elementary school days when we did projects with food and you just couldn't wait until it was over so you could eat the "learning tools." Once the raisins were completely gone she discovered she could place her cup inside the raisin bin. And this little trick occupied her for a loooong time. Sometimes she got the cup in right away and other times it took several tries, but she's persistent and kept attempting until she was satisfied. Once her sippy cup made it into it's new home, she'd walk proudly around drinking from it, playing the piano (one handed, still holding the container) or hanging out in her new hot pink zebra rocker enjoying the fruits of her labor. I feel blessed to experience such pure elation watching her learn in these seemingly insignificant moments, that actually demonstrate her motor skills, creativity, and perseverance.

Priceless, so enjoyed seeing how intuitive she is.
