Addie's Big Girl Room

As Lincoln prepares to move into his room next month, we decided to transform Adeline's from a nursery to a "big girl room." We needed the mattress from her toddler bed for his crib so we gave her the queen bed from the guest room, that way we didn't have to buy another bed. At first we were worried it'd be too tall and she'd fall out, but it hasn't happened once and Addie sleeps more soundly than she did in her crib or toddler bed--who wouldn't?!
As someone who enjoys shopping and decorating I was excited to transform her room. And as someone who only shops sales and discount stores, it was a pretty cheap project. I only purchased curtains, two decorative pillows, and a queen comforter and sham set at Target. Instead of buying new artwork, I simply painted her existing frames and dragged and dropped images from online to a Word document, which I printed at home. I moved her rocker to the living room, where I usually feed Lincoln, and relocated the chair we had in the guest room to her room. I put her original side table in Lincoln's room, which is in progress, and moved a painted table from my mom's garage into Adeline's room. I initially wanted to paint the hand-me-down table, but I think it looks just fine. And here it is put together, with before shots on the left and after pics on the right:
Usually, Addie will stand in front of a camera for about two seconds (with a serious face) before exiting the scene. The day I took pictures of her room, she jumped in bed and started posing without me asking =).

So cute! One thing my parents always let me do is decorate each room we lived in! Made every new house exciting and my own! :)

Thanks for the idea, Rachel! I think that's a perfect way to make each move fun for her. You're my go-to girl =).
