Baby Practice

The last few months of the my pregnancy I've received a free magazine about all things baby. One issue had several articles about preparing your pets for the new addition. The writer suggested buying a doll and exposing the animals to it. I finally found a doll the size of a newborn and we started practicing with the pups. The second I held "her" on the couch the dogs were licking and playfully nibbling her hands and toes, so it's a good thing we're doing a trial run! We put the doll on the bed with us and after a few attempts they finally respected "her" space. And I also used her for practice in swaddling (as one book suggested) and learning how to use the wrap to carry her. It was fun for me to pretend the doll was our baby for the afternoon, as I'm beyond anxious for our little one's arrival! Hopefully by next Saturday we'll be holding the real thing!!

Hi Guys,
That is an excellent idea about showing your dogs to "RESPECT" the new baby's space, thats also a good sign that they were licking her toes, very good idea as a practice run,its so hard to believe that your a grown woman with a Husband and a little one on the way,it truly is. Take care,be safe and tell your daughter that she'll be seeing her "POPPY" soon-P.S-Should it be Poppy or do you like Poppi??,whichever one you like thats the way we'll go,she probably won't be reading for another 6mo's or so anyway!! Love Dad
