Birthday Recap

11/18/2014

Tim and I woke up overly excited on Adeline's birthday, eager to celebrate our girl turning two! Tim picked up donuts for breakfast and we added candles to help her understand that it was her birthday. As we sang to her and presented her candle laden donuts, she started yelling, "Put them back!" So, Tim ended her birthday song, "...Happy birthday to you; you must be two!" Usually she loooves singing "Happy Birthday," but of course, not on this particular morning. She eventually warmed up to the idea and asked for the candles to be put back in and blown out, over and over and over =). We spent the rest of the morning playing with new gifts she received from family and had lunch at my mom's office.
When Tim came home from school he installed a swing that my brother and sister-in-law got for Addie. She was in heaven swinging and we more or less had to pry her out for her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's that evening. She'll happily spend hours in her swing each day now.
That night we had dinner at Chuck E. Cheese's with our immediate families. Adeline enjoyed all the music, Chuck E. Cheese appearances, games, presents, pizza (3 pieces!), and cupcakes. I can hardly believe our sweet girl is already two years old! What a gift God has given us in this spirited little one!
