Colossians 2:6-7

We decided to put a verse about baby girl's crib and combed The Bible for scripture that spoke to us. We came up with a multitude of options, but decided on Colossians 2:6-7. I absolutely LOVE this verse and pray she comes to live by these words.

We bought this piece of wood from Home Depot and then purchased paint, brushes, and carbon paper to complete the project. It took fooorrreeever to make--I had no idea. First I typed the verse into a Word document and then chose the font I liked. After that we oriented the layout and then had to enlarge and print out each word to be taped onto carbon paper, measured, and traced. After that I painted in the outline of the words. The wood we chose already had a slight finish on it so the paint didn't go on as well as I thought. To make the words dark I had to paint 3 coats, but I ended up liking the light lettering in certain areas, which I think gives it an older, worn appearance. After a week of hours on and off, I finally finished last night and applied a coat of polyurethane this afternoon. This project was certainly a labor of love. Now I know why similar signs sell for $100 and up online!
