Day 25
If you're familiar with the military life, you know that moving always brings on home projects! At each new house, your furniture no longer fills the space (or you have too much), you don't have enough curtains for all the windows, your decor doesn't match any more since the painting previously set in the dinning room doesn't fit on the wall...a seemingly endless list. And when you FINALLY get everything in the right spot, it's time to move AGAIN! So goes the story with the below piece of art. In the last three homes this painting has remained wrapped and out of order. Still liking the foundation, I decided to create a new piece of art out of the old (just like God creates something new out of us when we're ready for repurposing).

I started the refurbishing process by sanding each square, and after I wiped it clean, I used a roller to paint on black chalkboard paint (two coats). Seriously simple! Then, I looked up some fonts I liked and free-handed the text with plain white chalk.
I wanted each board to represent something unique and special to our family. Here's what I decided for each square: Proverbs 3:3 (our wedding verse), the cities the Army has chosen for us to live in, our daughter's name, the shape of Mozambique (where our sponsor child lives), the date we got married, my Bible verse for the year--1 Thessalonians 5:18, the U of A logo, a list of our vacation spots, and the names of our dogs. This is the final product! Let me know if you have any questions should you decide to create something similar!

40 Day Challenge--Day 25:

Create! It doesn't matter how big or small your project is, just embrace the creative process. God made something as magnificent as the universe, and as tiny as an ant. They're both still His intended, purposeful creations. Here's a couple ideas: arrange flowers, write a poem, compose a song, paint a picture, capture an image, rearrange a room. Enjoy the endless possibilities and have FUN!
