Fake Out

Last deployment, as the FRG leader, I received notifications of all the incoming flights that our company's soldiers were on. Maybe because I've been out of town, but there was no mention of that this time around. So, when I received a phone call, email, and text announcing "my soldier's return on the evening of September, 28th" I was immediately shocked and excited...and then commen sense quickly followed and dashed my hopes. I had recently gotten off the phone with Tim and there was no mention of his return sooner than mid-October and I recalled the notifications from last deployment. Later that day I had an email from the woman in charge of the notifications telling us not to get excited about the homecoming messages we'd be receiving about other soldiers in our company. Maybe she should have sent that a little earlier! Thanks, Army.
