Families Helping Families

It's that time of year again where most of us are consumed by Christmas shopping, decorating and continually adding to our pre-holiday to-do list. Although I enjoy all the lights, music, and trees that make up our modern day Christmas celebration, my favorite part of this holiday is the giving aspect. God has blessed our family and we're eager to give back over the holiday season, in His name. 

Many families have an organization they typically give to each year at this time, such as an angel tree at church or a local food bank. Every organization reaches out for support during the holidays and I understand that you can't give to them all, so it's wise to choose a place that's special to your family's heart. For us, that is Dr. Dobson's Family Talk's Family Helping Families. We learned about this giving opportunity last year and will participate again this year. Dr. Dobson's Christian radio program has had an immense impact on my faith and life choices, so his program is especially dear to me. 

It's a very simple forum. Dr. Dobson's radio listeners that are in need post a description about themselves and what they are in need of this Christmas. You read through the list and choose a family to help. Dr. Dobson's team will respond to your request to "Be a Blessing" with the contact information of the family in need and then you work with the family directly.
