Father's Day

This year, we had so much fun celebrating Tim on Father's Day, especially since he's a father of TWO now!

Adeline and I prepped for the holiday by making Father's Day gifts. I wanted to have her paint a mug for Tim since he drinks coffee daily, but we ended up purchasing this ceramic jar from Target instead. (He's using it to hold a list of all the funny things she says.) Addie chose the paint colors and several brushes to decorate the jar. After it dried for 24 hours, we "fired" it in the oven for 30 minutes at 400 degrees. I cannot believe she didn't choose pink as one of her paint colors!
We arranged to have lunch with Tim's family on Father's Day so we prepped a gift for "Grandaddy" too. I asked her what she wanted to get him and she was insistent that we give him a wand for Father's Day. I like to let her choose as much as she can in her little life so a wand for Grandaddy was added to the shopping list. We purchased large popsicle sticks and a wooden star cutout at Hobby Lobby. At home, she painted the wand and added glitter for some final glam. We glued it together, tied on a ribbon, and wrote a sweet note so that it made a little sense.

On the morning of Father's Day we let Tim sleep in, as much as you can with two babes. I saw a cute image for breakfast on Pinterest and copied the idea. We also made eggs, bacon and fruit for his breakfast spread. Addie helped me decorate the table by using a three hole punch on construction paper and spreading the confetti across the center of the table.

After breakfast we went to church and then met Tim's family for lunch at Cafe ala C'art. When we returned home, the kiddos went down for a nap and Tim went to get a massage, gifted by Lincoln. I honestly can't even remember what he did the remainder of the day; I'm lucky if I can remember what I did yesterday =). What I do know it that Tim is a truly remarkable father and our kids are SO blessed to call him theirs!
