God's Only Test

Day 19
Do you find yourself anxious about your financial situation? Worrying about how you'll pay off the next bill? Or, hopelessly wondering if you'll clear the ever-mounting debt? If so, God provides a path to financial freedom that I implore you follow! It's simple: give God ten percent of your earnings and He promises to bless you with more than you can store. The tough part comes in trusting this promise. If you can set aside all other factors and place God as the priority, regardless of circumstance, you WILL receive God's blessings as seen in Malachi 3:10, "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." This verse is the ONLY place in the Bible that God says "test me." He is completely clear in this command to tithe and it's up to you to decide if you'll trust His promise or not. If you're struggling financially, try a new plan that comes with a 100 percent guarantee--tithing.

Our pastor's message at church today was about the commandment regarding stealing, particularly stealing from God. I'd never thought about the eighth commandment in this way. Pastor Lamb explained that he doesn't want to be someone who rips off God. The money we manage is really His, and all He asks for is ten percent, regardless of our income. Our pastor went on to say that the day we get paid, we begin to formulate our priorities...Mastercard, stuff, God. In what order are your priorities? A raw question! Lastly, he spoke about seven securities Satan has stolen from us.

Satan has stolen our JOY and left behind discouragement.
Satan has stolen our PEACE and left behind anxiety.
Satan has stolen out TRUST and left behind worry.
Satan has stolen our IDENTITY in Christ and left behind doubts that we re loved by God.
Satan has stolen our FREEDOM in Christ and left behind bondage and guilt.
Satan has stolen our CONFIDENCE in the power of God and left behind personal strength.
Satan has stolen our HOPE in the future and left behind guilt over our past, confusion about the present, and fear about the future.

Let's take back these securities by trusting in Christ, to provide for us just as He promises.

40 Day Challenge--Day 19:

Start tithing. Take a complete leap of faith and trust God's promise to flood you with blessings. If you're already tithing, spend time in prayer asking God if He would like you to give more, sacrificially.

To learn more about this, read The Tithe Test to see how tithing has blessed our family.
