Happy 2 Months, Lincoln

Yesterday marked Lincoln's second month with us. He continues to be a chill baby, minus occasional fussy periods in the evening. As a second child, he doesn't get to sleep as peacefully as Adeline did, so he sometimes cries when he's overtired. The only other time he hollers is if he needs milk before I've offered it or sometimes in the car. Aside from that, he's a happy little guy.

Lincoln typically wakes up between 7-8 A.M., eats, and then plays on his mat while Addie and I do an activity. After that, he tags along in my arms until he falls asleep around 9-10. He usually wakes between 11-12, eats, and accompanies us during our lunch. Thank God, both kiddos nap at the same time so I enjoy some quiet time from 1-3ish. Lincoln sometimes wakes during this time for a meal and a little playtime before returning to sleep until around 4-5. Then, he's up during dinnertime and takes a snooze while we get Addie ready for bed. He has his last awake period once she's asleep, from 7-9ish. He's been waking at midnight and 3 to eat, but last night he only woke at 4:30! Hopefully more nights like that are to come.
During the last month, I've tried to return us to normal--attending church, going on outings with Addie, and not watching movies all day long =). This week, Lincoln tagged along while we went to a bookstore, playground, and botanical gardens. Thankfully, Adeline continues to love on Lincoln at every opportunity. She enjoys greeting him when he wakes from a nap, rubbing his head, kissing him, comforting him when he cries, and offering him toys. As for Lincoln, he likes swinging, being held, a warm bath, and listening to music. This month he's practicing smiling, cooing, sucking his fingers, and grasping dangling toys.

2 mo checkup
Today, we had Lincoln's two month check up on base. He weighs 12.8 pounds (68th percentile) and is 24 inches long (83rd percentile). We discussed his spinal ultrasound further and the doctor assured me that his results were normal and we won't need to follow up with this in the future--praise God! His body rash has cleared up and we took him off Zantac for his reflux since he doesn't appear to be in pain.
Dairy is back in my diet with no adverse sign from Lincoln. Now, the doctor wants me to remove wheat to see if it may be causing his constipation. Adeline was allergic to wheat during her first year and the doc noted that that can be genetic. I can live without dairy, but wheat is SUCH a challenge for me. Hopefully that's not the issue! She suggested I give him two ounces of juice daily to see if the sugar helps him to poop. If not, we're to go back in one week to continue troubleshooting. Tim and I joke about all the poop discussion that happens in our home =). (Addie has chronic constipation and I suffered from intestinal complications after my gall bladder removal.)

Lincoln ended the day with two vaccines and an annoyed nurse who clearly didn't approve of our delayed shot schedule, the same one we followed with Addie. He cried for a quick five seconds and then fell asleep, after being woken all afternoon. He's such a trooper! I'm eager to see what milestones month three brings. Again, profuse thanks to each of you that prayed for Lincoln's health this past month; I'm eternally grateful!
