Happy 4th of July

7/4/2012

We started off the holiday with a visit from Charlie and Claire; an always tardy Charlie arrived 8 hours late (at 2 A.M.). Surprisingly, I was able to stay up and wait for them while Tim caught a couple hours of sleep. When they arrived Tim woke up and the boys drank a beer. So early in the morning, my medicine from the previous morning was starting to wane and the nausea was beginning so I headed to bed at 3:30 while they stayed awake to catch up. After a few hours of sleep Tim and I got up to make our guests blueberry pancakes topped with strawberries and cool whip--yum! A festive red, white, and blue breakfast to celebrate the 4th. After breakfast they showed all their pictures from their trip to China (5,000 pics) and some video clips of the performance they put on across the country. I really hope we get to visit China at some point in our lives. The culture is truly unique. Once they finished telling us about their trip they went on their way to Austin and we spent the afternoon napping. Once we got up we went to one of Tim's friend's house for dinner and swimming. It was nice to catch up with our buddies from Ft. Rucker. After that we went to a Diablos baseball game, which was quite the blowout. Our team won 22-7. They had a beautiful display of fireworks with a spectacular finale. Next year Tim will be deployed for the holiday so it was nice to spend this one together. Hope everyone had a great 4th!
