Happy 7 Months, Lincoln

It's been seven months since our little guy entered the world, and how our lives have been blessed by his sweetness! He's so lovable that I even entertain the idea of being pregnant again in the future, despite enduring hyperemesis gravidarum with both pregnancies. A third child is not a real conversation at this point, but Lincoln makes me consider the possibility because he's so darn sweet. (Just an idea, Hubby.) And of course, at other times, when both kids are crying or I'm up at 3 A.M. the notion of #3 couldn't be farther from my mind.

In the last month, Lincoln has cut his front two bottom teeth and is (so far) a master teether like his sis. Other than drooling, and a liiiitle whining, you wouldn't know he was teething. I purchased an amber teething necklace, which is all the rage right now, and it seems to have drastically minimized his drooling, as the product promises. He used to soak through a bib in minutes, and since he's been wearing the necklace I haven't had to use a bib once. He wasn't terribly fussy prior to using it, so I can't vouch for that as many other reviews do.

He's figured out how to get up on his knees, but has only pushed himself up with his arms once. He rolls all over the place, but has yet to figure out crawling in any form. He's working on sitting and can hold himself up for a few moments before toppling. Since he has been sitting a tad, we decided to try him at the miniature piano, and he loved it, just like Addie. Both kiddos made their musical debut at seven months and didn't disappoint in the cuteness department =).

Lincoln has started consistently sleeping through the night, for about two weeks now. We put him to bed between 7 and 7:30 P.M. and he sleeps until about 7 the next morning. Hallelujah! Once he wakes up he nurses and continues to nurse every three hours until bed time. The poor guy still breaks out in random rash patches on his face and head when he nurses, but he doesn't seem to be bothered by it. After feeding, his wake periods are about two hours long and then he naps for around an hour, give or take.

He's enjoying most foods that he samples, both pureed and in small bits. He wants to chew on the spoon the entire meal, so we have to use two spoons to keep him happy--one to feed, and one for him to chew.
He's been making some consanant sounds, like da-da, but mostly lots of squeals and spitting noises.

One of the funniest developments is that Lincoln has officially discovered his "man parts." When he makes contact he immediately starts giggling and giggling; it's so pure and innocent =). They're men from the start aren't they?!

Lastly, his eyes have finally started to change from the deep blue babies are born with. As of now, his eyes are a dark brown color. We'll see if they lighten up any like his sister's; Addie has her daddy's hazel eyes.

Happy seven months to our guy!
