How to Play in El Paso

Adeline LOVES to play outside, and of course, get as filthy as possible. Living in El Paso makes that task extremely easy since we're surrounded by dirt. And lucky us, the month of dust storms is quickly approaching! Where the dust actually seeps through your windows and doors and sets a nice layer on everything. The first day we arrived in El Paso a couple years ago happened to be during a violent dust storm. All you could see, literally, was BROWN. BROWN. BROWN. The mountain views were completely wiped out by the dust-filled sky. Not the most welcoming of sights when you've driven across country for three days to arrive at your new Army post. I remember driving behind Tim as we entered the city thinking, THIS is my new home? Ugh! However, that night God gave us the most thrilling surprise in the world when we found out I was pregnant. In a La Quinta motel. In El Paso. Ha =).

Back to Adeline playing outside....We actually do have grass in our backyard--hard, crunchy, pokey grass--but, grass nonetheless. Unfortunately for the clean up crew (me), she much prefers dillydallying in the dirt. Here's how the kids of El Paso play.
