Last Centering Appointment

10/30/2012

Today was our last centering appointment before labor. And Tim was finally able to join--yay! I'm really happy he was able to meet my midwife and nurse, who will hopefully be able to deliver the baby. Nothing too eventful happened. My weight and blood pressure were good and my belly is growing right on track. My midwife had to fish around for the heartbeat for a minute as the baby has moved once again. She's still head down, but her heartbeat was on the lower right side of my belly whereas it was on the lower left side last time.  Today was an open discussion for any last minute questions and concerns. We practiced some breathing techniques and discussed the c-section process. The group was pretty quiet today so we stopped early; everyone is just anxious to have their babies and end these last weeks of pregnancy.

I have an individual appointment scheduled for next Tuesday with my midwife where she'll perform an exam and discuss any concerns I have. (I'll be 39 1/2 weeks at that point.) And if I don't go into labor soon after that I'll have another appointment at 41 weeks to schedule an induction.
