Library Trip

2/2/2014

On Thursday, I took Addie on her first real library trip. I was a little nervous taking my vocal one year old to a place that epitomizes quiet, but she loves books and I needed to get out of the house! To my pleasant surprise, the library on post is divided into two sections, the door on the right leads to the children's section, and the one on the left takes you to the adult section--genius! There's even an entire separate room for toddlers. Pure relief that now that we won't get hushed or kicked out for Addie's "spirited" personality and I don't have to feel like we're disturbing others =). More than the books, she enjoyed the beanbags, rocking chairs, colorful rugs, and all the walking space.  She really did pretty well, only screaming a couple times when I had to redirect her. After we left, Addie played in the Japanese Garden right outside the library doors. She enjoyed climbing on all the rocks, conquering the slopes and crossing the miniature bridge (which we went over about 50 times, literally). Glad to know this trip can be an addition to our weekly routine.
