MOPS

On Wednesday, I attended MOPS for the first time. No, it's not a class on cleaning, but rather a group of mothers that meets to fellowship, share their experiences, and learn about being a mom (while also taking a break from the kiddos). MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and is for expectant moms through those with children in kindergarten, although some women who attend have children my age. One of the women in our Sunday school class invited me to attend the year's first meeting and I was hesitant to go, not yet having a kid, but I was pleased to find out that there were about five other pregnant women at the meeting. MOPS meets at our church on the first and third Wednesday of each month. The morning starts off with a huge potluck breakfast, a welcome sign for any pregnant woman, followed by fellowship and either a guest speaker, crafts, or some type of lesson. This Wednesday we just socialized with the women at our assigned tables--who we will sit with all year--and made picture frames. I enjoyed meeting the women and plan to attend in the future. It's nice to have another reason to get out of the house, make new friends, and have a support group composed of Christian women.

I'm so glad you've found and attended MOPS. Both Lorie and Beth treasured that association, and whenever they're home, they return just to greet friends from a prior time. Except for Lorie, their "babies" are no longer pre-schoolers. They grow so fast!
We're looking forward to seeing you and Tim very soon!

I am so excited for you guys! And thrilled that you have a good MOPS group. We don't have one in Holland, and I miss it so much! What a great group of Christian support - I leaned on them so much in CA! I might have some handmedowns for you, if you are interested... Girls are awesome! Xoxoxo

Thank you for the MOPS encouragement! I'm excited to get to know the ladies better and establish connections. I remember your mom talking about how much you and Beth loved it. We'd be happy to have your handmedowns, but I'd hate you to spend on shipping from Holland. Hope Holland is treating you well and your family is doing great!!
