Never Too Close

Our Adeline and Wilma have an undeniable connection. Adeline even used to call her Mama! Luckily for myself, she's now called Waaa-ma. Poor Wilma ended up in Addie's lap, scared after a spray from her new citronella collar. I don't think she understands that Addie's isn't quite old enough to help her out (aside from dropping goodies during mealtimes).

Wilma has a severe barking problem. Yet, that's what a Yorkie is bred to do; I suppose she would be a champion in her world. After three years of NON-STOP barking we finally ordered a citronella collar to deter her joyful noise. Neither of us felt right using a shock collar, so this was the next best option. How I wish we would have discovered this years earlier!!! After she barks, a stream of citronella sprays her in the nose. She usually stops after just one bark now, and it's even deterred her from barking at all in certain situations. No longer do I feel on constant edge when Addie's sleeping or when someone makes a noise, any noise, as that would previously send Wilma into a wild frenzy.

In this picture, Wilma is also sporting her new harness and seat belt. We used to let our dogs roam free in the car, but now with Adeline, and our dogs' history of fighting, they're strapped in apart from each other. Obviously, Wilma's seatbelt gives her a little too much freedom, but her and Adeline just can't get close enough!
