Baby Sprinkle

With just three weeks until we meet our son, my sweet family threw us a beautiful shower on Saturday to celebrate the baby's upcoming arrival. When my mom first approached me about having a shower I wasn't entirely interested in the idea. My family hosted such a stunning, all-out shower for Adeline and I felt bad knowing they'd go to such lengths again (although I know they do it happily and with love!). My family is extremely talented at hosting parties, planning, and decorating, and they think of every detail possible. I knew they'd create a magazine worthy party once more, and undersatnding how all consuming that is in every regard, I didn't want them to feel like they had to do that again for our second child. My mom assured me she wanted to celebrate the baby and so we went forth with a shower, or a sprinkle, as a shower is often called for a second child.  At Adeline's baby shower we had all our family and friends, but I decided to keep this one more intimate, with just family, since we'd already had a blowout shower for our first child.

My mom, grandma, and aunts did a fabulous job, as always, creating a fantastic shower. I felt so special and loved seeing everything they prepared and created to welcome our son into the world. Tim and I were blessed with wonderful gifts for the baby and Adeline had a ball helping to open all the presents! It was a lovely morning and I was truly honored to celebrate our soon-to-be son with such beautiful people.
