Out for the Day

Although I'm only two pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight, only one of my pants fit. I've been in comfy pajamas since the day Adeline was born so today I tried on each pair to start packing for our trip home. Since only my jegging-type pants still fit, it was out shopping I went. I also tried on several dresses in my closet that I wanted to wear over the holidays but all were too tight, in various areas! I thought I would purchase quite a few items today, but I can wear a couple of my maternity pants so I only bought one pair of jeans. Even though I'm pretty much the same weight as I was before having Adeline, I had to purchase pants three sizes bigger than my usual size--amazing how the shape of one's body changes after giving birth! I also purchased a dress to wear the Ashcraft family photo shoot that I can also wear to a New Year's Eve party we're attending. I thought I would be eager to buy, buy, buy since I've been in maternity clothes for the last eleven months, but I just wanted to get to my other errands quickly so I could get back to Addie. While I was still a couple hours out, Tim called asking when I'd be home as Adeline was inconsolable. Unfortunately, I was stuck in shopping lines and traffic. I called home after I finished at my last stop and Tim was eager for my return, telling me to make sure I drove five over the speed limit. He commented that once my boobs were outside of a 15 mile radius Adeline went crazy, haha. Daddy and daughter survived my day out and mommy was sure happy to see them both when she returned!
