Pups Prediction

7/12/2012

Tim's family arrived in town today in preparation for his change of command ceremony tomorrow. We wondered how the pups would do with four more adults and two kiddos in the house. Based on previous encounters with children, we think they did pretty well. We've been trying to prepare them for the baby in small ways, like teaching Zazua not to jump or lick so much. Wilma barked for a few minutes when they came in, but she did well the rest of the evening. She did snap at Andrew once when he got too close too fast, but she's certainly getting better around kids. And Zazua licked a lot, but her jumping was a little better, granted we held her the first 10 minutes when she's the most excited. Both dogs enjoyed the baby's scraps at dinner that fell to the floor =). And Zu gets grumpy at night, so by 9:00 she didn't want to be pet anymore. Overall, I predict our pups will do well with our little girl, especially since she'll be here every day. Right now their exposure to kids is so sporadic that there's an adjustment period each time. Here's to hoping Zu and Wil love our baby as much as we do!
