Registry Complete!

Well, I finally finished the daunting, yet exciting, task of registering for baby girl. Last month I started registries online with Target and Babies 'R Us and began to add organic items that can only be purchased online, for the most part. I was also able to add some big ticket items I'd been researching and getting feedback on from other moms. I think if I read any more reviews on baby products I might seriously explode, although I definitely feel informed. The product reviews online are certainly a nice feature for first time moms, though.

Meredith joined me at Target yesterday to finish the registry process. I felt I need a mom with me for opinions on what brands were superior to others. She offered her advice and that of other moms she knows, which was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, the scanners they issued us were not so helpful. About halfway through the Target aisles the scanner stopped recognizing items and began searching for the network, and then quickly shut down. We went back to the customer service desk to get another scanner, which also died about 10 minutes later. I was too frustrated to go back again (plus pregnancy exhaustion and back pain were kicking in) so I just wrote down the last few items I wanted to add in the aisle we were in and did so online later that night.  This morning I went to another Target to finish adding the last items on my checklist, and of course, the scanner died AGAIN! So that led me to Babies 'R Us, where the scanner lasted as long as I needed it to and functioned perfectly the entire time--finally!

It sure is alarming how many items are needed to welcome a baby into the world, well maybe not NEEDED, but considered necessities in our modern society. It was a fun process picking out her future belongings; I just wish Tim could have joined in, too. Even though he's a man I think he would have enjoyed it. But he'll be back from NTC in approximately a week and can view my choices online and make any suggestions then.
