Settling In

Whew! We can now check off move number seven from our list. And to think, we have two more moves coming up within the next two years. One at a time, though! For now, we're feeling pretty settled in Tucson, working on and off to make our new house a home. We finally got internet yesterday so I can start blogging again, but between pregnancy, a toddler, and moving in, I'm not sure how often that will happen.

We moved into our house last week and have been unpacking and decorating between new doctor appointments, repair visits, utility phone calls and visiting family. The most notable doctor appointment was my O.B. visit. During my ultrasound, the doctor said that she could tell the sex of the baby and asked if we wanted to know. We were still contemplating a surprise at birth and opted not to find out if we are having a boy or girl. A few minutes later she said, "There's his hand...or her hand." As soon as she walked out of the room Tim began dancing with glee at this possible gender reveal. We have another appointment at the end of the month and now Tim HAS to know since we think the doctor might have slipped.

On the house front, Addie is thoroughly enjoying our large backyard, playroom, and and 80's style quirks, especially the atrium and three way mirror in the hallway. The owner definitely needs to consider renovation! This house has A LOT of space and we're on the lookout for a couple new furniture pieces to fill some empty areas. Addie's come along with us on our shopping trips and enjoyed trying out all the furniture, especially this adorable stroller find, which did not come home with us =), to her great dismay.

We also returned to my home church this past weekend, which I attended during Tim's deployment. And Tim is already plugged in to a bible study he enjoys. I plan to start volunteering at a Christ-centered pregnancy help center in August and begin a parenting study at our church next month. All in all, Tucson is starting to feel like home once more. Thank you to everyone who prayed for our safe travels. We can call Tucson home for the next 16 months and then we'll hit the road once more--to Alabama for four months, and then to New York for another couple years. Life of the military.... Certainly doesn't get boring!
