Speaking God's Promises

I picked up this book last week and God had the perfect timing to place it in my hands, like always. I started reading it last night when I needed a little God pick-me-up. I was feeling emotionally pooped and Joel Osteen's words gave me the boost and biblical reminder I needed. The introduction explains that so often we express our negative thoughts aloud and what do we get...negative results. The bible says that we will "eat the fruit of our words." If we project positive light into our lives, that's what we will receive, and vice-versa.

I plan to read a chapter each day, for 31 days, and challenge myself to rid any negative thoughts from making their way out into the open. With a couple challenges going on in my life, it will be a tad difficult, but I feel convicted to attempt this. But if Anna (my friend who just passed away) can live life full of positivity, despite cancer taking over her entire body, anybody can do this! (Her family coined this "Anna-tude")

Day one of promises to speak into your life illustrates the EXPLOSIONS of blessings God can bring to your life. We simply have to ask and acknowledge these promises. So I pray aloud as I write this:

Dear God, please bring an EXPLOSION of blessings into my life and that of my family as we deal with the challenge of bringing my dad home. We know you perform miracles and I ask for complete healing of my dad's back and his addictions. Help our family to be loving, supportive, and in tune to the fact that you are capable of making ANYONE new, despite their past actions. Give my father courage and determination to live in the light of Your son. And please bring an explosion of peace and comfort to Anna's family as they deal with the loss of this beautiful young woman. Ensure than her "Anna-tude" be a contagious, infectious attitude that continues to take over the lives of her friends, family, and beyond. I ask all this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Your faith and strength humble me, Ashley! God bless you on your journey!
Just FYI - iof you're still adding miles to Tim's return, please put me down for 46 miles in May (I visited the NL and walked quite a bit!)
Be well, ALL, and know that you are loved!

I'll be keeping you and your family in my prayers! I'm also going to order this book, as I definitely think that type of attitude is a blessing for anyone, but is sometimes hard to remember to apply! Thanks for the referral! = )
