God never said that following Christ would be easy and He certainly never said that you'd remain on the mountaintop, but He DID promise to always be with us, never leaving or forsaking us (Deuteronomy 31:8). Recently, I conquered a major battle within my heart, only summiting because I used Christ as my compass. That battle was true forgiveness and the covering of love. However, like I said, we don't always remain at the peak. Yesterday, God allowed me to enter the valley again, placing me in a situation that tested my new growth in Christ. Could I forgive again? Was I able to continue loving despite fear and disappointment? The answer: miraculously, yes! My Christ-like response was only possible because of my faith in Jesus and the trust I have in God's plan to prosper me and give me hope (Jeremiah 29:11). 40 Day Challenge--Day 5: Summit YOUR mountain.
