Leave it to the Army to give us orders ONE week before we move. Unfortunately, one week out doesn't allow the moving companies enough time to bid, pack, and move us, so we're left to our own devices. Thank you, Army. We received orders last Thursday and by Saturday we reserved a Uhaul truck, went "dumpster diving" at the post recycle center for boxes and paper (sounds disgusting, but if you're military you've probably done it too), purchased bubble wrap, tape, and colored stickers. As of today, we've finished organizing and packing our storage closet, master bedroom, guest bedroom and dining room. Here's what our house looked like at ten last night:
Between taking care of Adeline, who is currently teething, and dealing with my up and down pregnancy symptoms, I haven't been as much help as I'd like to be in the preparation process. Although Addie isn't feeling so hot, she's enjoying all the boxes to climb on, declaring "Shepoo Addie" (Super Addie) while she stands on top, and creating destruction wherever possible. This is how she "helped" on day one of packing, by dumping out all the peanuts and spreading them absolutely everywhere:
We'll be all packed by Thursday (fingers crossed), and headed to Tucson for a year and a half of family, grad school, and a new addition to our little family.
