Ultrasound Results

7/11/2012

On Friday, July 6th we had our 21 week ultrasound, although I was one day away from being 22 weeks. This was when we found out the shocking news that we are expecting a girl. The technician told us that on the following Monday we would find out the refined due date, weight of the baby and if there were any abnormalities. Needless to say I was eager waiting over the weekend. I called first thing Monday morning but the results were not in and I was told to call back the next day. When I called yesterday the nurse was unavailable and did not return our call. Anxiousness building. Then I finally got ahold of a nurse today who told us that the ultrasound looked normal, thank God. The baby weighed 414 grams at the ultrasound. The average baby weights 360 grams at 21 weeks and 430 grams at 22 weeks so it looks like she's developing right on track. Astounding to think that when she's born she'll be approximately 3,450 grams. Lots of growing still to do! As far as the expected due date, I received yet ANOTHER due date. I'm so exhausted of adjusting this date. At first it was the 4th of November, then the 11th, then the 10th, then the 19th, now it's between the 14th and 15th. Based on our conception date, we can expect Baby A on November 10th, so that's what I'm going by. The nurse said it doesn't really matter anyway since it's a guesstimate and because it's my first baby she'll probably come late (news to me). Bottom line, some time in November we'll have a baby =).

P.S. Thanks for your prayers for a healthy baby at our ultrasound!

Good news on the baby's progress, and if it happens she could be a patriotic baby and be born on Veterans day??

That would be a great birthday! She can share it with her Auntie!
