Walk Your Soldier Home

3/1/2013

Family and Friends,

Our battalion back at Fort Bliss is participating in the Walk Your Soldier Home program. They've asked all the spouses at home to create teams on their soldiers' behalf. Here's how it works:
Our soldiers are approximately 7,800 miles away from us in Afghanistan. During the deployment the teams will attempt to cumulatively walk that many miles to "bring their soldiers home." I eagerly invite you to join Team Ashcraft to help achieve the unit's goal. You can email me at ashleyross4@gmail.com or comment on this post to let me know you would like to participate. All you have to do is send me you total completed miles each Sunday so that I can submit them to our battalion...or if you would prefer to do it just once a month that's fine, too. If you bike or use the elliptical those miles count as well, with every ten miles being converted to two miles. I'm not a runner, by any means, so I'm just planning to walk my soldier home, but if you want to run Tim home, all the power to you! Our start date is this Saturday, 3/2. If you already exercise routinely this will be super easy for you, and if not, supporting our Tim is the perfect reason to start getting healthy! Thanks for considering being a part of this neat endeavor!
