Weight Check

1/8/2013

Right before we went home for the holidays, Addie's nurse practitioner asked us to make an appointment for when we got back in order to recheck her weight as she had lost weight at her last appointment. We finally saw Addie's real doctor (Dr. Rance) today for the weight check and he wasn't concerned at all. He reported that she's in the 31st percentile and he won't be concerned unless she falls in the 5-10 percentile. She weighed in at 9.7 lbs. today. We spoke quickly about her reflux and he, too, was concerned about her crying after eating...not so much about the spit up or vomiting after eating. He wanted to up her Prevacid dosage but decided against it as we're seeing the GI on the 10th and Dr. Santos will probably change it then. Unfortunately, he said the GI we are seeing is notoriously hated by his other parents because he's in and out in two minutes. Please pray that he'll spend the time necessary with us to help Addie. Dr. Rance gave us his cell phone number and said to call him after our appointment on Thursday and if we don't like the GI he'll put in a referral for another that he recommends. He also suggested that I take fish and nuts out of my diet. The fish is no biggie as I don't eat it anyway, but I do eat a lot of peanut butter. All in all, a positive stop at the doc.

I am glad that Addie is gaining weight. Keep us posted about the GI appointment. Hopefully he will spend some time with you!
