Wide World of Baby Items

Starting a baby registry is rather overwhelming these days. I feel pretty informed for a soon-to-be-mom, but there are still a lot of items I didn't know baby girl needed (or at least what the stores say she requires). I googled baby registry checklists and pulled a couple forms to help begin the process. I also ran across one refreshing blog that listed just the bare-necessities and explained that many of our purchases may come AFTER she's here, once we learn her preferences. I started a registry with one store today to list some of the organic products we would like. After visiting a couple baby stores, I found that most of the organic products they offer are available only through their website, so I tried to take care of that part today. Tim and I would like to provide Baby A with as many organic products as possible after reading the scary effects of many of today's baby products. The use of chemicals and pesticides among baby products is alarming, although some companies are making efforts to go eco-friendly. I recognize that there is a point where you can overboard with the natural/organic movement, but we just want our girl to be as healthy as possible, and hope to avoid all the newly introduced chemicals (with their known and unknown reactions and consequences). I'll be heading to Tucson mid-August and will complete our baby registry at that time with the help of one of my friends who is already a mom and can give me some guidance. I just wish Tim would be here to help pick out what he likes, too. The other day he hesitantly asked if everything I picked out would be pink, haha. Not to worry, Hubby; I'm not big in to the pinks and purples anyway. Most of what we pick out will probably be on the neutral side, although she has to have a few cutsie, girly items =).
